Having read several books set around the time of the Napoleonic wars written by the likes of Dennis Wheatley, Bernard Cornwall and Simon Scarrow to name a few I was initially thinking not another one.
To my surprise the part that I read was like a breath of fresh air. I was very descriptive and seemed to me to transport me back to those times in when the novel was set.
Not having read the first book in the series it has now made me consider getting it before I consider this book.
