Having read the first book, The Bastille Spy and really enjoying it, I was really looking forward to reading this book as the follow up. I was definitely not disappointed, it's a great read and blends the historical knowledge well into the action packed story.
It's a great follow up and continues the action pretty much straight after where the previous story left off. It also follows all the main characters well and keeps you invested in them.
I love all the different chapters and how it changes viewpoint between the characters allowing you to keep up to date with all the action going on from all sides. I really like all the spy gadgets in fitting with the historical era that are used throughout the story as well.
