I did find this book a bit slow to get into at the beginning, but it was good once you got into it. Maybe this was because I havent read the first book.
I liked the historical fiction and fact mix. The main setting in Paris was realistic, especially the back street taverns.
The style of writing is easy to understand with nothing too difficult to understand to appeal to everyone.
I enjoyed the storyline but I was disappointed with the end as I thought attica would chose jemmy rather than Atherton as they were so much better suited to each other.
The characters were all really good and my favourite was definitely jemmy the pirate.
I think there will be plenty of scope for further adventures for these characters
