The Bastille Spy is a fantastic book so I was really looking forward the follow up. I can undoubtedly say, I was definitely not disappointed! A fantastic read that blends accurate historical knowledge into an action packed story. And as a someone who has just submitted her PhD in history, historical accuracy is very important to me, so this definitely passes the test, and obviously historical settings are right up my street!
It continues the action pretty much straight from where Bastille Spy left off so straight away your invested in the characters, which only develops further through out the course of the novel. Each chapter changes viewpoint between the characters allowing you to keep up to date with all the action going on from all sides which I think is a fantastic interpretation/writing style. It's a unique way of developing all the characters.
On the whole this is a great read that's easy to follow and means that you won't be able to put it down.
I hope this series continues to develop and I can't wait to hear more from this brilliant author. A great novel!
