S'okay
I have been struggling to write my review of this book.
I didn’t dislike it but I feel that if I had read it in the depths of winter, snuggled up by the fire, I would have enjoyed it more. I would have been more ‘forgiving’.
The problem is that I took an instant dislike to the main character.
Who couldn’t like a swashbuckling female protagonist? Well, me – and I think it’s because of the use of first person narrative. She was too arrogant – tell her story from a third person view and I’d probably admire her.
Nevertheless, I enjoyed the storyline and I was pleased that it read well as a ‘stand alone’ book, even though it is part of a series.
Thank you to Readers First, Corvus and C.S. Quinn for the ARC in return for my honest review.
