I had such high expectations for this book, and the idea was fantastic. 100 pages in, and I had seen was misogyny, homophobia, ableism and racism.
Do I understand that these issues sometimes need to be addressed? Of course. Did it need to be addressed like this? Hell no. Definitely not.

You could tell this was written by a middle-aged man about teenaged girls and the teenagers were incredibly badly portrayed. Teenagers are learning yes, but not quite this air-headed. There were pages of meaningless ‘rich kid’ conversations and drama.

I desperately wanted to like this book, especially since the author is held in such high regard by many people. Unfortunately, this was a major disappointment. I hate it so much, I don’t even want it on my shelf. I’ve read many YA books, but there was just so much wrong with this one. Don’t read if you can help it.
