This has taken a ridiculously long time to review largely because it was booknapped by the young adults of the household and has only just got back to me! That alone is a recommendation!
I loved the fact that it starts right in the heart of the action. The writing is clear and simple, the focus is drawn in to events and characters from the start.
I love the dystopian feel to the story contrasting with affluent New York.
Skye and Red are well written and relatable. I think this makes the whole text very teen friendly indeed. My two and their friends who also had it passed round to them certainly felt so.
The cover appealed to the YA readers from the start. I will certainly look out for more books by this author as it is rare to find a title that hooks 13 year old boys and 16 year old girls alike as comprehensively as this has done. Very highly recommended all round.
