Quite a short first impression really, once you get through the usual opening pages there's only around 15 pages of the story for us to actually read.
It's mostly character introductions, and scene setting, and there's really very little in the sample to sink my teeth into, however the blurb and the premise it suggests at gives me hope this could actually expand into a good novel.
However when you get to the final page I can see why it's such a short glimpse because even though I expected it from the blurb I was really picturing the events in the coffee shop before that explosive last few lines.
I'd be interested to see what direction this author is going to take the novel in now though.....
