This is a beautiful tale of courage, personal strength and the power of humanity and friendship. The deep personalisation of the four main characters made them feel non-fictional and in a sense, you feel as though you are in the room with them.
There are four characters: three hostages and one man with a gun. By the end of the story, you will have grown to love all four characters in their own way, each with their own personal stories and obstacles which they have had to overcome through life (just like anybody). I think the story can teach us all to be a little kinder and consider that there are always things going on beneath the surface of a happy (or angry) exterior.
I have only praise for this book- it is a must-read!
