I really enjoyed this one, it was fast paced and engaging all the way through. Given the nature of the story, I felt the tension throughout.

The main character, Sam, is flawed and whilst not an outright villain, he makes a difficult anti-hero too. However, I found myself rooting for him and warmed to him just as much as the other characters did.

The characters within the cafe were warmly portrayed, but also demonstrated how we don't ever really know what it going on beneath the surface. Their own back stories added depth to the story and the relationships they build with Sam were heartfelt.

If you're after a tense story, with lots of family issues that will tug at the heartstrings then this one is for you!
