One of the saddest books I've ever read :(
Well that was a difficult read !
This book sounded right up my street on initial blurb read but in reality was a really tough book to finish. It's about an angry young man who walks into a local cafe one morning, makes a snap decision that will change his life and the lives of the people that were unlucky enough to be there. The pages that follow are the explanation of how he has become this desperately unhappy man. Every time the story returned to his life growing up to tell his tale, it became more and more difficult to read, his story is incredibly sad and physically made my heart hurt. With mental health being at the forefront of all our thoughts, this book is a reminder of the reality of some peoples lives. It was written beautifully and with compassion and drama but I think the ending was predictable and inevitable.
Overall, a well written book but not one I would want to read again.
