Although I can tell from the author's note (which introduces the reader to the historical background to her debut novel and describes her approach to combining fact with fiction) that her writing style is engaging, I'm not a fan of historical fiction. However, I loved the cover of the book and can see that it will immediately attract readers who do enjoy this genre.
