I have such mixed thoughts about The Spiral. In one respect, I was completely and utterly engaged and absolutely flew through it.
However, in another respect, I was absolutely bamboozled and that’s the best word to describe it. Even hours later, I still haven’t gathered all my thoughts about it and I’m not sure I even understand it still.
That being said, it was a lot of fun to read and a very unique reading experience. I have never read anything like it before and doubt I’ll ever read anything like it again.
While the main character Erma was frankly very annoying and I did not really like her at all, the story was enough to keep me engaged and reading to the end.
I do think this has some very far fetched ideas which I personally liked but for those who are strict thriller lovers, I think they’ll struggle a bit more with this that their usual reads!
