The spiral is about Dr Erma Bridges who is under a disciplinary hearing about her inappropriate relationships with her students. She believes that it was brought by her research assistant Jenny who was helping her write a book. Jenny then turns up in her bedroom and tries to shoot her before turning the gun on herself. After a time of recuperation she tries to find out her motive whilst trying to find where the missing interview is with Archibald Moder that Jenny had, a reclusive writer of choose your own adventure stories.
