The synopsis of this book was brilliant and had me hooked. However I was not prepared for the turns this book would take!

The book follows Dr Erma Bridges as she is called back to work to face an HR hearing. However the next part of the story ignores this completely as Erma, tries to find the woman who she thinks made a complaint against her, and ends up in a terrifying ordeal.

The book is almost a book within a book within a book! Erma studies books, in particular adventure books where you choose your own path - or so you are led to believe. The book manages to be an exploration of fiction and reality and who holds the power.

I did not expect this book to turn out as it did. In all honesty I do not think I fully understood the entirety of the book and will probably be thinking it over for a while. However it was a powerful yet dark story and was an enjoyable read which leaves you thinking about the meaning of stories and endings.
