An informative yet heartwarming historical tale!

I absolutely love historical fiction. However, I’ve never read a book set during the English civil war, in fact, I didn’t even know there was an English civil war! From reading the premise and the first impression I already adore Jayne and want to follow her story. What happens with William? Will she be able to mentally cope with what she sees? I love that Minette sets the scene with the place and date in which the experiences happened.

I think the cover is absolutely stunning. It’s definitely one I would pick up in a shop and fits perfectly with the genre and premise of this book!
