As a fan of "The Sculptress" and Minette Walters other thriller novels I was excited to see a change of genre to historical fiction.
Jayne Swift a physician wants to be neutral and treat both sides in this conflict will be interested to see how the works out. She seems to be turning into a well rounded character. I also have high hopes for Wiliam Harrier he sounds like he could be a match for her.
If the description of the priest's death is anything to go by we are in for a thrilling novel of this particularly hard time for England when families were torn apart because of their beliefs not unlike Brexit!!!!
