I find it interesting that "The swift and the harrier" is about a war, and not any of the two world wars. Even though they were the most sanguineous ones, we need more stories about the previous ones.
I liked the idea of the doctor who is neutral to the conflict and provides aid to both, but I started to lose interest at the mention of the protagonist falling in love with a man who is a key officer in the conflict.
The story appears to be good, but then it also seems cliche.
