Usually love Minette Walters, but not sure about this one

I've read lots of Minette Walters crime fiction books and have really enjoyed them, but I'm not convinced by this one. I'm not really sure why, as I don't mind historical fiction, and I really wanted to like it, but so far it's just not grabbing me. Maybe it will improve as the story goes on.
