I am not hugely familiar with this period of English history but boy do I want to be after reading these engaging first few chapters. I want to know what it's like to be a female physician, unrecognised for your skill and determined to do right by whoever needs your help at risk to yourself.
I want to know what happens with the characters we meet who in a few short scenes have captivated my attention in an era where religious fervour and cruelty reign. Where you are literally hung drawn and quartered for not leaving the country on time.
