I was really excited to receive a review copy of The Swift and the Harrier by Minette Walters. It is the first book I have read by this author and I’m absolutely in love it and didn’t want it to end.
The characters are well developed and interesting to follow. The plot line of this story is intriguing and kept me wanting more. The main character Jayne Swift is a very likeable character which makes the story all the better. Though some of the chapters can be quite long (20 pages ish) you don’t even get fed up of reading as it is quite fast paced and addictive.
Overall I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone who likes reading historical fiction, it is not set in a period I usually read about - 1642 civil war in the UK but that maybe made it more interesting. I am excited to read more books by Minette as she has quite a back catalogue and is a well known crime writer and I love crime fiction.
