Good Start lost me towards the end.
Upon reading the blurb of the book I was pretty sure this wouldn’t be for me as Japanese history is something I’ve never been interested in.
However the book did not begin as I thought it would with slavery and such hate towards a group of people. Violence was depicted well and made me squirm when reading it but I did want to read more.
As the story went back a month in time, I began to lose interest and my mind would wander struggling to read on and connect with the story of the new characters that were introduced. I did not feel a connection although the writing style was good.
I do not think I would buy this book or continuing reading it as there are plenty more books I feel I would enjoy more.
