This book was gripping from the very start but also promises to be a hard read. At times it's going to be bleak - and emotional throughout - but sometimes dark stories have to be told. The writing is very compelling and moves things along swiftly and I truly feel for Lale already and hope he, and his family, manage to survive the terrible ordeal ahead of them.
