From the first sentence this book had me gripped. You are immediately drawn into the character of Lale and quickly sense his determined, strong yet also fearful character. There are many strong emotions associations with the content and it can be difficult to digest the events that happened during that awful period, however you feel yourself wanting to know more and more about how the prisoners are going to defend themselves.
Overall this was a very emotional and gripping read and I am eager to read the rest of Lale's story.
