It's quite obvious from looking at the cover of the book that this will not be an easy read, and even more so when you realise that this is a true story.
We learn a little about the characters in these first few pages, and the horrific conditions in which they find themselves. I thought the cover was striking and memorable, and I liked the style of writing which was descriptive and to the point. I look forward to reading the rest of Lale's story and his relationship with Gita, the young woman he met in Auschwitz.
