The Tattooist Of Auschwitz

I don't want to say too much about this book as I feel this is a book that everyone should read at some point. It is such an eye opener.

This book covers the real tragedies of what life was like for everyone concerned and how a lot of people done what they had to in order to survive. It is not all doom and gloom, this is a story of love and not just loss.

Lale was one of the lucky ones in my opinion and the fact he could speak five different languages undoubtedly saved him more than once. His confidence and determination was clear throughout.

To start with I found this a difficult read, this was not a subjected we covered in school and the fact that this is based on real life really shocked me. I knew of what had gone on in the past but not to the extent of this.

Although this is a fiction book I think there is a very fine line to this being Non-Fiction.

In addition to the story I enjoyed Morris' accounts of meeting Lale and finding out more about Auschwitz.

I feel this is a book that should be read in school to educate children on what really happened during these terrible times and how people survived.
