I have just finished reading this book and I loved it. It was a great way of telling a story whilst adding romance and great descriptions. A lot of it was hard to read but the determination of Lale to stick to his goal and get back to Gita made the story amazing.
I loved learning about the history of the different camps and it was interesting to hear it in detail. The end of the book with the historical evidence was also a really nice touch. It makes it more real and helps to add to the imagery that is created in your head from the story.
The constant flashbacks mixed in with the current story make for a well rounded book. I also liked that it swapped between the characters. This helped to add to the story as a whole and meant that the story was easier to picture. Furthermore, it made it more emotional and the empathy that you feel for the characters throughout is incredible.
