Wow how disappointing:( I was sooo excited for this book heard so many great things about it and could not wait to start it. Oh wasn’t I disappointed. The story line is beautiful however the way in which the story was told was devastating to say the least.
There was a massive lack of emotion throughout the book (the first half anyways I could not read continue this book). The book may as well be a bullet point of events. The story had so much potential to really pull on heart strings and emphasise the emotion of what those people went through. People are getting beaten, raped, starved and there is no emotion towards this just minor detail there wouldn’t even be any follow on?? Oh she got raped by an officer that’s it we just don’t hear about that character again?? Maybe if the book was written in first person rather than third there would be more emotion. Extremely disappointed, however two stars for such a beautiful story line.
