This isn’t the usual type of book that I read as I don’t normally read books based on historical events. While this was very interesting and a beautifully written book I found extremely emotive and very very sad to read. I understand that the Holocaust was truly a monstrous event but this book truly highlighted the nature of the events of the Holocaust and was quite eye-opening.
It’s a beautifully written book but it’s extremely sad and isn’t for everybody. I read this book as it came very highly recommended, and I will admit I was reluctant to read it as I knew I would find it upsetting.
While I didn’t really enjoy the book it was very moving and I can appreciate the writing and storyline.
I would recommend this book to people who enjoy history and want a moving and emotional account of power the Holocaust and how it affected and impacted individuals.
