I have to admit I may have not been drawn to the cover of this book and therefore it may have put me off choosing to read it, but it’s true what they say “don’t judge a book by it’s cover”.
I was drawn into the story within the first chapter. It was an easy read and I loved the fact it was the main character looking back and therefore still had the adult scope of writing even when Louisa was telling the story of her as a child. It is a compelling story of friendship, obsession desire and jealousy within the eyes of teenage worlds. I warmed to all the characters in the story as they all had an element of naivety that made you feel
Sorry for them and the description of characters allowed you to understand the happenings from their point of view. I guess one would say the story had a tragic ending however I believe for Louisa it was not a tragic ending but the start of a new life. I read this book in a few days, it’s been a while since I had read a book so quick that was easy to follow from start to finish and kept me guessing throughout at what the end would bring. Highly recommend this book to anyone!
