Sorry to say, I’m delighted that I finished this book. It was like swimming in treacle! At first I thought, ok, slow to start but it’ll pick up. Well, sadly it didn’t. It sounds interesting on the blurt but it’s basically a short story stretched into a novel. Quite frankly it’s boring, very boring. The characters are shallow, the plot is transparent and it doesn’t keep the reader engaged at all. I was lucky to get through 7 or 8 pages before falling asleep. It’s a debut novel and I really wanted to like it but it’s bad. I’m struggling with a review for the first time because I wish I’d have invested my time in something interesting. I’m really not sure those who endorsed the book on the back, actually read it ! The thing I did like was at the end, your told what happened to key characters after the incident. I’d say if you read the last 20 or so pages you’ll have got the whole story.
