This sounded really good and it started off well, quite moody and creepy.
You know there is a love triangle going on with Mr. Lavelle, Louisa and Victoria it's rather explicitly hinted at all through but the reality is Victoria loves her teacher Lavelle and Louisa is in love with Victoria who can be very cruel and unfeeling.
It all ends in chaos when Lavelle and Louisa go missing after a blazing row with Victoria and many years later though many have tried and failed to solve the disappearances another journalist is on the case and determined to get answers.
Eventually she tracks down Victoria and all is revealed about that fateful day.
As stated this started out rather dark and mysterious with the brooding bleak landscape of a girls Catholic school as the setting for the action but for some reason I feel this all got a little confusing and lost pace.
I thought maybe it was just a slow burner but I didn't find it as thrilling as the blurb led the reader to believe.
I think this is going to be a Marmite book readers will either love or hate the writing style.
