This sequel to 'The Last Hours' had me hoping that each page would end with an incomplete sentence, just so that I had an excuse to continue reading.

Walters begins the book with a very well considered summary of what was offered in 'The Last Hours', which jogs your memory sufficiently in anticipation for what is to come next.

Alongside the development of the plot itself, the information provided by Walters throughout this second installment with regards to the Black Death itself helps to build a basis for the atmosphere she wishes to create, and provides enough subsequent information from that provided in 'The Last Hours' to allow all readers to keep up with what Walters wishes to out down.

His atmosphere is followed through with the ability to offer what can only be described as a 4D reading experience through skillful descriptions of fleas, lice and all else that will leave you itching.

I wish not to spoil the happenings of this book and so I will leave this review with the simple statement that Walter's has cleverly intertwined the role of villain on victim, and victim on villain excellently.
