I found this to be a very unique and intriguing read with likeable characters and an unusual subject matter. It has been described as part ghost story and part Nordic thriller which I think sums it up perfectly.

Martha has a gift where she can tell things about a person just by touching their clothes. This gift started when she fell out of a tree in her grandmother’s garden and blinded herself in one eye. She sets off to visit her grandmother to find out more but finds that she has sadly passed away. There is however a strange boy in her grandmother’s cabin, and soon some spooky goings on begin….

For being a YA book I thought this was quite dark (in a good way!) and the descriptions were spookily visual. I loved the eerie setting in Norway and the links to Norwegian myths and legends. The development of the story was good, and I liked the relationship between Martha and Stig. I felt that the ending was a little rushed and some things left unexplained but there is a sequel to this, which I read straight after and will be posting the review of soon!

This was an eerie twisty little read and I enjoyed the uniqueness.
