I gave this book to my husband to read as he is a fan of crime thrillers. This is his review...

The book is well written with a gripping plot that keeps you guessing. I kept reading until the end because I really wanted to know what had happened. The characters were rounded and believable.

However... the one thing that let this book down for me (and would stop me from reading any more of this author's work) is the endless and detailed descriptions of Icelandic life and the towns, cities and villages that feature in the book. Although I could see that to set the scene occasionally with information about the landscape / environment is important, this novel eventually became more travel book than crime thriller.

For this reason, I have only given it 3 stars.
