The main character instantly annoyed me. I understand a journalist who wants to do things for good reason, I don’t understand one who writes stories just to prove how clever they are and annoy others. I tend to switch off from a story if the main character is annoying so wasn’t off to the best of starts. I feel like it could be interesting, but sometimes books that are written by people you’d expect to write a good one never are.
