I really wanted to love this. The blurb sets up a fascinating story, I love political intrigue and the fact that it's written by Robert Peston means I'd hope he'd use all the insights and insider info he's gathered over the years to reveal the machinations of government. But the writing is in off-putting first person and a bit blokey. Not sure I'd persevere with the rest.
