Great debut political thriller, Robert Peston wrote a very interesting political fiction book, this from someone that does not usually read political books!
Is set in 1997, presenting the life of a political editor of a British newspaper with few morals or principles.When his sister dies he sets himself the task of finding out if her death was just an accident. She knew probably too much of too many people in power and that can be a force in some situations but it can also bring disgrace and death to one's life.
Gil the main character is not very likeable... but he is also genius with political game and manoeuvres that allow him to deal very well with politicians and workers around him.
This was a very interesting thriller, I was curious to see how would this book turn out and it was a very pleasant surprise therefore my 4 stars classification. Definitely reccomend it!
