The Whistle Blower had a good premise but didn't quite deliver. The characters were slightly under-developed and the plot got bogged down a little at times. That being said, on the plus side there was a lot of intrigue and, when the plot was at full blast, you were drawn into the action. I just wish it could have maintained the pace throughout - maybe a good editing would have helped. I did guess the main twist but others took me by surprise. I was also put off by the prolific use of the f-word - whilst I understand the need for realism, this was too much. The world-building was quite good but the main character was very unlikeable and got extremely annoying at times. Would I read other books by this author? Not sure, it would depend on the plot and whether or not it came recommended by someone I knew and trusted. All-in-all, not the best book I have read in recent times.
