Throughout the whole of the first chapter I had Robert Preston's very distinctive voice echoing, I could hear him reading to mea and it felt a little bizarre to be reading a work of fiction written by the journalist who is very upfront in his political career.

I wonder if it’s part fiction and somewhat autobiography relating to himself, his own carer and family life it be wouldn’t shock me if he based it on himself.

Hence, it's not surprising that the book keeps returning to the political environment, there were times when I found this a little boring and long winded monotonous overtones. However, despite this I found myself getting engrossed in the main story line, that of the suspected murder of the journalists sister. A story which was at first passed off as an accident is in fact hiding more sinister things to come.
Peston writes with ease which makes the story easy to follow and he develops characters which are believable.
I'm glad I read the book I mean I thought it was pretty good for a debut fiction novel.
