The book had so much promise and the blurb really interested me. It was a really good concept but the execution failed to hold my attention.
I struggled to get through the book despite being interested in the story. I found myself reading and quickly becoming uninterested. It took a while to get through the story. The writing style contributed to this as did the politics though this may be due to my personal preferences.
The book follows the life of Gill Peck a journalist. His sister is knocked of a bike and dies. Her death is very suspicious due to her involvement in government controversy.
I enjoyed how Peston used his own reali life experience to add to the novel and create an autobiographical feel to the story.It felt like a non fiction book yet had elements that made it quite intriguing. I did like the story as it was different and unique to what i have previously read.
