I enjoyed this book. It was written in a clear style and had a good pace. Although I am not that interested in politics this book held my interest.
It is the story of a newspaper reporter who discovered that the death of his sister (who worked in Westminster) in a traffic accident was the result her uncovering dodgy political and financial goings on. The book goes on to tell of how he uncovered the conspiracy and the people behind it, and how most of them got their just deserts.
Although Robert Peston has written other books, this is his first work of fiction and I did like it so I hope that he goes on to write more novels.
One annoying this about the book was the number of times designer clothes were mentioned, I don't think this product placement was necessary and certainly did not add to the standard of the book or my pleasure in reading it.
I do hope that he writes more works of fiction of this calibre.
