I did not expect this debut novel to be as good as it was. Robert Peston has all the tools and inside knowledge to write a believable thriller based in the corridors of government.
There is no problem with the prose... very readable ...
No problem with the plot.... very fast paced with unexpected twists and turns ....
No problem with the characters..... believable enough to make you want to know what happens to them...
Gil Peck, a journalist has an estranged sister, Clare, who was killed in a hit and run and she worked for the Government privy to many sensitive secrets. Did one of these get her killed especially as there’s going to be an imminent election which could change the party in power.
I have no hesitation in recommending this book to readers of thriller novels..

I was given this book by Readersfirst in return for an honest review.
