When I first saw the cover my eyes were hooked and when I started reading it I couldn’t stop! The female character presented here is portrayed as strong and vigilant and not weak. I loved the use of imagery used through so much sophisticated vocabulary and grammar. The further you read the more interesting information is provided such as the fact that Jude and her sister Taryn are both learning how to fight which is typically a male dominated area of skill. But reading more made me sympathise for the sisters as it is said their parents were dead. When I got to chapter 1 I was confused in the beginning because of the new characters being introduced but I quickly seemed to catch up to what was happening. The style of writing was interesting to me because it reminded me of the award winning book six of crows which also had very similar concepts and timelines.
