I did enjoy the novel however I do feel it was lacking in perhaps a bit more humour. Whilst it is a murder mystery and the plot was good I think the author could of brought in more humour fo the queen I found prince Phillips character quite entertaining but he didn’t feature as a overall main character which I think could be introduced in further novels of the series. Nevertheless I found the author to be very descriptive and really set the scene well. The story was easy to follow and the characters were likeable. I enjoyed that the final reveal of who did it was a surprise and I had not guessed the plot ending prior to getting to the end. The book was an easy read and perfect for those that like a more light hearted murder mystery. A good read to curl up on a winters night with a warm drink and snuggle under a blanket too. I would be interested to see how the author develops the characters in future books of the series.
