This book was really good to read. I enjoyed it. The story was interesting and i thought it was well wrote. The scenes are defined well and you could imagine you were there. It was set in Kent during the war. It shows how hard it during the war for families. Some off to fight and others with rations.
All the characters are likeable. The story does follow the war so gives it some history.
There are some sad parts but in the end it is a happy ending. The highlight of the book is following Kathleen’s story and how she becomes happy. The book does tease with her past but it all is revealed in the end.
Would recommend as it is hard to put down. Great book for different ages. A lovely festive read for the winter.
