Oh my, this book was not what I was expecting. I absolutely raced through the First Impression and enjoyed every second of it. Leonie sounds like a bit of a menace but I think I already lost a bit of myself to Vee.

To be honest, I think I would have been happy with a book that was just the descriptions of the photographs in the retrospective of Vee's work. The first one that we are treated to brought the photograph to life in your mind and all the extra details about the world in the year it was taken really brought it home, gave it a sense of place. Although I was shocked that Rosemary's Baby was so early, I would have placed it mid-seventies and not 1968!

I can't wait to get my hands on this one.
