I didn't enjoy this book anything like as much as I had hoped. It all felt both contrived and pointless. I don't enjoy being told what to think. Or rather, I don't like it being so obvious that I'm being told.

Whilst the characters did grow on me, their interactions always felt rather artificial - as if they were too self-conscious or looking in the mirror. Perhaps this style is more suited to the stage, where internal thoughts have to be demonstrated.

My review has been considerably delayed because I would much rather have been able to write a more enthusiastic review. I always appreciate the generosity of authors and publishers in providing review copies. I will not post this review on other sites as I still, somehow, feel the inadequacy is mine.
