In The Word Trove we meet 'The Word', a word which has lost its meaning. After a heated discussion over breakfast The Word storms out of its house and, leaving its parents behind, The Word embarks on an unintentional journey to help it rediscover its meaning again. I say unintentional journey, because originally The Word just stormed over to its friend's house (Deaf) - it is from here that The Word's journey through language actually begins.
I don't think much more can be written about the story without spoiling it, since it is quite so short.
This book is beautifully written and illustrated, but it is just far too short. At comfortably under 200 pages it is much more novella (or novelette?!) than novel, and despite being beautifully bound, it still feels a bit on the expensive side when it is priced at a similar price to a 'standard' length novel.
