The cover is very attractive but, in conjunction with the title, puts one in mind of the movie 'Thelma and Louise'. I hope this story doesn't thrust two middle-aged English women into the same type of scenario! But the author is the always-enjoyable Caroline Bond so I'm certain the story will be much more original and subtle than that. This sample showcases her ability to introduce characters and settings so very well, without even a scrap of action or dramatic tension or dialogue. Masterful!
